Monte Marie McNabb

Monte Marie McNabb, 48, of Statesville, left this earth to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on July 11, 1966 and was the daughter of Donald and Skippi Moncrief Posey. Monte was a graduate of Georgetown High School in Georgetown, SC in 1984.  She also graduated from Mitchell College and was a Registered Nurse for the rest of her life.  She was working with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital at Davie Medical Center until the time of her illness.  On December 18, 1984, she married Samuel Edgar McNabb.  They had over 30 years of marriage before her passing.  Along with her parents, Don and Skippi Posey and husband, Samuel, she is survived by a son, Kurt McNabb of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter, Kara McNabb of Statesville; two sisters, Debra Knight (Chuck) and Donna Armstrong (Bobby), all of Albany, Ga;  four grandchildren, Shiyah Lyons of Statesville, and Abigail, Damon, and Dillon McNabb of Winston-Salem; and many nieces and nephews. The family will visit with friends Saturday evening, June 13 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.  There will be a private family burial held at a later date. The family requests no flowers but you may make a donation to Gordon Hospice House, or your local Hospice House, or to the Leukemia Association, or your favorite charity.
