Mollie Ann (Walters) McLaughlin

Mrs. Mollie Ann Walters McLaughlin, 81, of Statesville, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Iredell County on June 13, 1935, and was the daughter of the late John Franklin Walters and Jessie Bell Adkins Walters.  She was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and was a homemaker.  She was married to Robert “Bob” McLaughlin who preceded her in death on May 7, 1998. She loved her family as well as her church family at Elmwood UMC and was very active for as long as her health would allow. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, John Robert McLaughlin, Sr. (Patricia) and Thomas Nelson McLaughlin along with two grandchildren, John McLaughlin, Jr, and Elly McLaughlin, all of Statesville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, November 28, 2016, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the New Salem UMC Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
