Mitchell "Mickey" Edgar Munday

Mr. Mitchell “Mickey” Edgar Munday, 74, of Statesville, passed away Friday, December1, 2017 at Lincolnton Rehab Center. Mickey was born September 15, 1943 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Samuel Logan Munday and Ruby Munday Dagenhart. He was a graduate of Statesville Senior High School and Guilford College, where he majored in Spanish. He was a Navy veteran stationed in Morocco, served in the Peace Corp in South America and most of his life he worked at Bali as Quality Control in the Lab. He is survived by a nephew, Samuel Mitchell Munday of Texas, an aunt, JoAnn Campbell of GA, cousins, Leroy Warren and wife, Joan of Lincolnton, Susan Thomas of SC, Ann Campbell of SC, Keith Campbell of GA and Theresa Campbell Plaster of Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Logan Munday, Jr. Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will speak with friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mickey Munday.
