Mildred Irene (Sherman) Stafford

Mildred Irene Sherman Stafford, 86, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Brian Center of Statesville.  She was born in Afton, NY on August 5, 1929 to the late Ralph and Myrtie Sherman. Mrs. Stafford was married to Leon Stafford who preceded her in death.  She retired from Bainbridge Plastics after 25 years of service as a machine operator.  She was of Baptist faith. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Calvin Stafford (Lisa) of Statesville; two grandsons, James Stafford of Statesville and Adam Stafford (Lauren) of Louisiana; a great grandson, Wesley Stafford of Louisiana; a sister, Lena Gifford of Afton, NY; a special niece, Nancy Commings (Pat) of Troutman, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  Formal services will be held at a later date.
