Michael Dudley Kyles, 67, of Statesville, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 31, 2013. Mr. Kyles was born September 21, 1946 in Iredell County and he was the son of the late Oscar Oldfield Kyles and Ola Mae Bost Kyles. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and was a graduate of Mitchell Community College. On December 31, 1972 he married Catherine Flouton Kyles, who survives. Mr. Kyles was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was stationed in Germany. He was disability retired from General Electric where he worked as a transformer inspector. He was a member of the IUE Labor Union Local 182. In addition to his wife Catherine F. Kyles, Mr. Kyles is survived by two daughters, Marie Kyles Jackson (Tony) of Goldsboro, NC and Michelle Kyles Whiteheart (Rusty) of Winston-Salem and one son, William Wiley Kyles (Aisha) of Statesville. He is also survived by three grandsons, Andrew and Will Samson and Ethan Kyles along with three granddaughters, Ashley and Cheyenne Jackson and Stella Whiteheart. He is further survived by one brother, Loy D. Kyles (Terry) of Cleveland, NC and one sister, Pat Snow (Jerald) of Statesville along with two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Kyles will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the Troutman Historical Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home.
