Mrs. Mary Louise Westmoreland Sills, 95, of Statesville, passed away on February 6, 2015 at Autumn Care of Statesville. A Statesville native, she was born May 4, 1919, and was the daughter of the late William McNeely and Mary Lee Austin Westmoreland. Mrs. Sills was a graduate of Statesville High School and attended Mitchell Community College. She was employed by Myers Oil Company for many years. She was also a homemaker and lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esther Bible Class. On January 15, 1941 she married J'Mac Sills who preceded her in death on August 6, 1980. She is survived by one son, William Mac Sills and wife Kathy of Statesville along with two grand-daughters, Beth Sills Josey and husband, Lonnie of Charlotte and Kate Sills Warren and husband, Chris of Rogers, Ar. Two brothers, William G. Westmoreland of Raleigh, and Frank L. Westmoreland of Winston-Salem and two sisters, Grace W. Langley of Huntsville, Al. and Madie W. Gaither of Winston-Salem all preceded her in death. A service celebrating Louise's life will be conducted by Dr. Jack Causey at 3:00 PM Sunday at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their heart-felt gratitude to a wonderful group of caregivers: Gloria, Tracie, Kim, Callie, Tonya, Kathy, Brandi and Venora, who assisted with keeping her at home until near the end of her final days.
