Mary Elizabeth (Moorefield) Myers

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moorefield Myers, 90, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House.             Mrs. Myers was born March 30, 1925 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Robert Columbus Moorefield and Callie Moorefield. She attended Harmony Schools and was married to the late Henry Richard Myers, who passed away December 26, 2005. She was a past member of Cochrane Street Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress most of her life.             She is survived by two daughters, Rena Myers Plyler (Wayne) of Statesville and Betty Jean Myers Thomas (Wayne) of Statesville, four grandchildren; Tammy Renee Harveson, Brian Nelson Thomas, Bradley Nathan Thomas, Barbara Jean Thomas and seven great grandchildren; Badin Thomas, Macy Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Nicholas Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Anna Harveson and Abby Harveson.             In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.             Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ervil Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening 6:00-8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be grandsons; Brian and Bradley Thomas, granddaughter; Barbara Thomas, great grandson; Badin Thomas, great granddaughter; Macy Thomas and three nephews; Larry Hill, Jimmy Hill and Tommy Myers.             Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625 and online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Mary Elizabeth Myers.
