� Mrs. Mary Catherine Menscer Moore, 82, of Hickory, N.C. passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Sterling House in Hickory following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Moore was born August 28, 1929 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Richard W. Menscer and Della Johnson Menscer. She attended Iredell County schools and was married to Clarence Rayford Moore, who preceded her in death in June 2005. Mrs. Moore was a lifelong member of Ham's Grove Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Moore was also preceded in death by one son, Ricky Allen Moore, and four brothers, James, Maston, Marcitles and Claude Menscer along with two sisters, Alma Martin and Rose Spandel. Mrs. Moore is survived by one son, Terry Moore and wife Drenda of Hickory and one daughter, Deborah M. Grose and husband Harold M.of Lakeland, FL. She is further survived by five grandchildren, Tamara, Douglas, Tracy, Todd and Timberly. Nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, February 17, 2012 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Debra Short and Rev. Otis Johnson, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
