Mary Howard

Mary Kathryn Perryman Howard, 78, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Crittenden County, Kentucky on September 29, 1936 to the late Dennis A. Perryman and Mary Lou Cindy Slayden Perryman Elliott. Mrs. Howard was a graduate of Oak Parks High School in Detroit, Michigan and was a member of The Cove Church in Mooresville. She married Henry Roger Howard on October 6, 1956 in San Diego, California. They enjoyed 49 years of marriage before his passing on February 24, 2005. She retired from the law offices of Pressly, Thomas, and Connely where she worked as the secretary. Mrs. Howard is survived by four daughters, Cindy H. Sorgenfrie (Curt) of Blue Earth, MN, Wendi H. Nowlin (Danny) of Statesville, Susan H. Arcidiacono of Denver, CO, and Kimberly H. Radke (Steve) of Fripp Island, SC; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Kenneth Wayne Elliott of York, SC; one niece; one nephew; one grandnephew, and one grandniece. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Cove Church for their missionary work in South Africa.
