Mary Lou (Hamby) Haynes

Mrs. Mary Lou Hamby Haynes, 89, of Statesville, died Monday, June 11, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Wilkes County on January 14, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Cletus Hamby and Sadie Spears Hamby. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Haynes and a daughter, Betty England.

She was retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital and was a member of Landmark Church Of God and enjoyed painting, working in flowers and time with family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Cornett of Statesville, a sister, Bernice Eidson of Statesville, a son-in-law, Don England and grandchildren, Chris England (Lesley) and Creighton Cornett (Adrianne) along with great grandchildren: Sarah England, Bryce England and Caleb Cornett.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Bishop Phil Pearson and Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
