Mary Frances (Gaither Logan) Rupard

Mary Frances Gaither Logan Rupard, 68, of Harmony, passed away Thursday, June 04, 2015 at her residence.  She was born in Iredell County on January 12, 1947 to the late Roy A. Gaither and Mary Templeton Gaither, who survives. She was a graduate of Harmony High School and received an associate degree in Theology.  She first married Edgar Peyton Logan Jr. who preceded her in death in 1990.  She later married Jerry Newton Rupard who preceded her in death in 2004. Along with her father and husbands, she was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, “A.M.”  and “Miss Lizzy” Gaither; maternal grandparents, Martin Luther and Flora Alda Sloan Templeton, and her brother, Roy Alexander Gaither Jr.. Frances is survived by her mother, Mary; niece and caregiver Melanie G. Chatham (Jason) and their daughter, Jessica; a sister, Flora Ann G. Jordan; a brother, Bradley Gaither; a sister-in-law, Jane Gaither, and her constant companion, “TJ.”  She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, an uncle, and several grand nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her circle of friends, Kitty (Jay) Kennedy, Castle Mason, Soft Moon Thompson, Huck Finn, Robin Shook, and the Rupard cousins. There will be no formal services held at her request.  Memorials may be made to Clarksbury Cemetery Fund, 924 E. Memorial Hwy, Harmony, NC 28634.
