Martha Suzanne (Bumgarner) Wall

Mrs. Martha Suzanne Bumgarner Wall, 77, of Statesville, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Alexander County on February 13, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Ernest Bumgarner and Relda Wave Swaney Bumgarner. She was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church. She retired as owner and operator of Suzanne’s Gifts and Collectables. She was a graduate of Alexander Central High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, John Bryan Bumgarner, Josephine Watts, Relda Haneline, Thomas Bumgarner, Edgar (Bud) Bumgarner, Bobby Rose King and Bernard Bumgarner.

On May 17, 1960, she married Wayne Joseph Wall. Also surviving is a son, Thomas Joseph Wall and his wife, Nina, a step granddaughter, Ashley McKnight Flynn (Matthew) and a step great granddaughter, Grace Graham Flynn. Also surviving are siblings: William (Bill) Bumgarner, Betty Howie, Connie Campbell, Delmer Bumgarner, Gracie Brown and Jimmy Bumgarner, along with a large number of nieces and nephews and many third and fourth generation nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 9, 2018 at St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kessler officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church vestibule. Burial will be private.
