Mark David Willis, 60, of Statesville, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Born in Burke County on February 5, 1959, he was a son of the late Hal Willis and Martha Lynn Willis. He was married to the former Paulette Ball who survives.
Mark was a military man, having served in the Marines and the Army, he loved old cars and had a 1969 Firebird he loved, he loved his children and grandchildren, camping, going to the beach and guns. He was employed as an electrical technician for Freightliner.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Carmen Willis, two daughters, Andrea Buchanan and Sarah Bratton (Robert) along with grandchildren: Isaiah and Waylon Barnette. He is also survived by a brother, Dale Willis (Revonda) and a sister, Brenda Bolick.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Wayne Ball officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with full military rites presented.
