Mr. Marcus Ray (Buck) Fulbright, 69, of Statesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on February 13, 1946, he was a son of the late Noel Baxter Fulbright and Euphia Sherrill Fulbright. He was a member of Bristol Road Baptist Church, and retired from Duke Power Co. after 35 years of service in 2004 as a Turbine Technician. He was a member of the F.O.P. He enjoyed fishing, going to church, classic cars, and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Buck graduated from Celeste Henkle High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Johnny, Jimmy, Robert and David Fulbright, and sisters, Barbara Jo Reid, Irene Johnson, Lillian Stewart, Helen Honeycutt and Mary Evelyn Johnson. Survivors include sons, Chris Fulbright (Joni) of Statesville, Jerry Miller, Jr., of Troutman and Mark Fulbright of California, daughters, Tammy Church of Statesville and Wendy Deal (Brad) of Troutman, grandsons: Andy Church, Josh Deal, Zack Deal, Ashton Fulbright and Cohen Fulbright and a granddaughter, Bethany Church. Also surviving is a great granddaughter, Madison Lily Stewart, a twin sister, Margaret Lackey, another sister Sue Fulbright, and a brother, Melvin Fulbright. Services celebrating Buck’s life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at New Sterling A.R.P. Church with Rev. Otis Johnson and Dr. J. B. Parker, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church following the committal service. Pallbearers will be: Gary Stewart, Steve Stewart, Ronnie Stewart, Bradley Fulbright, Chad Lackey and T.J. Johnson. William C. (Bill) Redmond, Sr. will be an honorary pallbearer.
