Mac McConnell

Robert E. "Mac" McConnell, 80 died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Washington D.C. on March 5, 1931. He entered the Marine Corps at 19 and at the age of 20 was married to the late Bobbie O. McConnell. The family moved to Statesville in 1965. He will be remembered as the owner of ABCee Fencemasters. He is survived by a brother, George McConnell, four sons John R. (Wanda), Michael E. (Gayle), Bill G. (Donna), and G. Lynn (Paula) McConnell and 7 grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the home of John and Wanda McConnell, 1004 E. Broad St., Statesville. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family. �
