Mrs. Mary Lucille Miller Hedrick, 93, of Sharon School Road, Statesville, NC, passed to her eternal home on Saturday morning, December 22, 2012, at the Catawba Regional Hospice, Newton, NC. She was born October 30, 1919 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Roscoe Miller and Lola Vernada Deal Miller. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and Mitchell College. On May 5, 1946 she was married to Robert Glenn "Ike" Hedrick, who died January 17, 1991. Lucille was a bookkeeper for 18 years at Reich Realty Co. and for 10 years at Dixie Liberty. She was a long time member of Sharon Lutheran Church where she had served on the Church Council, was a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Music and Worship Committees and a past president of the Lutheran Womens Association. She had also been a member of the Senior Citizens' Jolly Elders. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Polly Miller Krider, Betty Miller Sherrill and Winnie Miller Sipes, along with brothers; John Perry Miller, Fred R. Miller and Huitte R. Miller. She is survived by one daughter, Beth Hedrick Sain, of Vail, NC, grandsons, Andrew H. Sain and Jason R. Sain along with a number of nieces and nephews and her church family. Funeral service will be conducted at Sharon Lutheran Church with officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
