Lovelia Bost Lapish, 92, formerly of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Lawndale Manor in Garner, NC. She was born in Iredell County on February 20, 1923 to the late Harvie Albert and Della White Bost. Mrs. Lapish was a graduate of Scotts High School and was married on June 15, 1946 to the late Lawrence Eugene Lapish. They had over 69 years of marriage before his passing on September 12, 2015. They loved traveling and traveled to every state in the US except Hawaii and Michigan. Alaska was her favorite and she made several trips there. Mrs. Lapish was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her three daughters and was a member of Front Street Baptist Church. She took great pride in her flower gardens and every bird and squirrel for miles around knew where they could get a good meal. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed. Along with her parents and husband, Lawrence, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Johnson and Antha Poole. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Cynthia Lapish Groce (Craig) of Morrisville, NC, Wendy Carol Lapish (John Beck) of Apex, NC, and Lisa Lapish Gauger (Bill) of Morrisville. She is also survived by two grandsons, Chris Holland of Kernersville and Hank Gauger of Morrisville; two granddaughters, Kelsey Gauger of Boston, MA and Laura Gauger of Reston, VA.; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Lapish will be held 11:00 AM Saturday December 26, 2015 at Front Street Baptist with Rev. Tim Stutts and Craig Groce officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 at the church.
