Loretta Yount

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Loretta Yount. Loretta peacefully made her transition on October 27, 2024 at the age of 79. She was born on October 16, 1945 in Burke County, North Carolina. Loretta spent her last days surrounded by loved ones at Hospice of Davidson County, North Carolina.

Loretta was a woman of warmth and vivacity, known for her gregarious nature and love of life. She made an impact on everyone she met. Loretta had a passion for singing. She had a beautiful voice and often spent time singing with her friends and family. She also enjoyed painting, cooking, gardening, watching television and spending time with those she loved.

Preceded in death by her father, Lucas Boyd Elliott, her mother, Doris Andrews Goins,

affectionately known as Grandma Dot; and her beloved brother, Terry Elliott.

Loretta's legacy lives on through her surviving family. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Randy Huffman(Margaret) and Jimmy Yount, daughters Anita Swink (Jerry) and Karen McKinney; her sister Linda McNeely (Maynard) and her cherished grandchildren, Bradley Nations, Josh Swink, Chris Louya, Taylor Hunt, Marah McKinney, Stephanie Stewart, Amber Pritchett and Sydney Huffman.Loretta also leaves behind great grandchildren; Landon, Hunter, Parker and Josie Nations, Ava Shipwash, Caroline Jowers, Kate and Alice Stewart and soon to arrive, Harvey; as well as great- great grandchild Beckett.

Loretta's life was enriched by her special friend, Jackie Townsend and her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Nikki, Tony and Susie.

The family wishes to thank all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. A gathering of friends and family will be held in the fellowship hall of Abee's Grove Baptist Church from 2pm - 4pm on November 10th 2024. 654 Abee's Grove Baptist Road Valdese NC 28690.
