Lona Delores Jolly peacefully entered her Heavenly Home and the loving presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 31, 2018. Lona was born April 18,1945 to Harold David and Lacie Bowman Jolly. Lona was an active busy toddler until, at the age of two, she was struck with polio. Because of several months in an iron lung and difficulties with her illness, Lona struggled with many health challenges throughout her life. Despite these challenges, she learned to enjoy many opportunities that came her way. She loved her family and was always ready for a great celebration!
Lona worked for many years on the family farm. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed mowing the large yard on the farm. She also enjoyed family beach trips and a good restaurant. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and had an impressive collection of Elvis memorabilia. Lona was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Jeanette Jolly Harmon, a brother, Richard Jolly, a sister in law, Judie Jolly Reavis, and a niece, Mandy Jolly. Left to cherish her memory is a sister, Teresa Brooks Primm and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 at Nicholson’s Funeral Home Chapel with visitation before the service at 10:00. A private graveside service will immediately follow.
The family wishes to Thank Maple Leaf Health Care Center for showing such loving kindness and care to Lona for the past ten years!
