Lola Christine (Drum) Shives

Mrs. Lola Christine Drum Shives, 95, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday April 11, 2015 at her residence.                 Mrs. Shives was born October 15, 1919 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Walter Miles Drum and Candace Mollie Fox Drum. She attended Iredell County Schools and was married to the late Larry Shives. She was the co-owner of Front St. Café and was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ.                 Mrs. Shives is survived by one son, Delbert “Del” Reid (Betty) of Sylva, NC, one granddaughter, Lisa Gunton (Dave) of Spartanburg, SC, one great grandson, Daniel Reid Gunton of Spartanburg, SC and special friend, Mary Gryder.                 In addition to his parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Mearl Yoder, Flake Drum, Guy Hubert Drum, Odena Drum Sprinkle and Gladys Drum Stroud.                 Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Minister Ken Hicks officiating.
