Mrs. Lois Mae “Snook” Safriet Harris, 84, of Statesville, died Friday, November 10, 2017, at Autumn Care in Mocksville. Mrs. Harris was born July 28, 1933, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James Martin “Mart” Safriet and Lizzy Seamon Safriet. She was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and on April 12, 1952, she married William Coolidge “Docker” Harris, who died on October 24, 2017. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher during her active years at the church. Her church and church family were very important to her. While they were able, her and Docker would go visit family and friends after church on Sundays. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Safriet and a sister, Laura Kimmel. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Diane Shoffner and her husband Roy along with their daughter, Angela Shoffner, all of Harmony. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Hayes of Statesville. Funeral services honoring the life of Lois “Snook” Harris will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Gwaltney and Dr. Jesse Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.
