Lois (Millsaps) Hutchings

Mrs. Lois Millsaps Hutchings, 74, of Statesville, went to join the Heavenly Choir, Monday December 5, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Hutchings was born March 12, 1942 in Statesville, NC and was the daughter of the late William Virgil Millsaps and Irene Givens Millsaps. She was a graduate of Central High School and was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. On January 1, 1983, she married Rene H. Hutchings in Stony Point, NC. She was retired from Clark Equipment and enjoyed teaching young children about the Lord through Sunday School, Awana and BSF. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Terry Combs (Megan) of Battlefield, MO, Jerry Combs of Statesville, Carol Combs of Union Grove, Scott Hutchings (Lori) of Grand Rapids, MI, Mark Hutchings of Key Largo, FL, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook and Rev. Walter Flemming officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Active pallbearers will be he nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Hill Baptist Church or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County.
