Mrs. Linda Gaye Warren Broyles Stafford Lewis, 80, of Harmony, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House from an unexpected brief illness. She was born on December 11, 1936 to the late Willie Adam Warren and Melvina Thompson Warren. She attended school in Taylorsville and worked at Wal-Mart for many years. Left to cherish her memories are a sister, Jane Reavis (Robert) and a brother, David Warren (Carol) of Statesville. She was married first to the late William Hartzell Broyles, and of this marriage they had two children, William Eugene Broyles (Debbie), with three children, Adrienne Huisman (Keith), William Broyles (Rosa) and a son, Charlie Broyles. They have 5 grandchildren and reside in south Florida. Joy Broyles McCoy, having two children, Sherry Williams and the late Avery Rozelle with 2 grandchildren of Statesville and a sister-in-law, Thelma Shoup & (Steve) of Hickory. She was next married to the late Kenneth Avery Stafford, and of this marriage, they had a daughter, Kathy Stafford Garnick of Winston-Salem, having two children, Len Smith and Shelley Garnick with 1 grandchild. Also a sister-in-law, Faye Stafford of Taylorsville. She was last married to Clennon J. Lewis who also preceded her in death. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and loved to get out with and be among people. Services celebrating Linda’s life will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Ervel Jones and Rev. Joshua Smith officiating. The family will receive friends and the body will lie in state in the church sanctuary for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
