Linda Sue Goodwin Austin

Linda Sue Goodwin Austin, age 75, of Statesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born on February 1, 1946 in Iredell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Goodwin and Bondelia Smith Goodwin.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid North Carolina Tarheel fan and loved watching her grandkids “play ball.”
In addition to her parents, Boyd Goodwin and Bondelia Smith Goodwin, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harding Austin; and her sister, Faye Helms. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sandy Harpe and husband, Eddy; grandchildren, Matt Harpe and his fiancé, Brittany, and Lindsey Harpe; siblings, Lavonne Gryder, James Goodwin and Louella Barnhardt and husband, Dwight; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, October 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Livingston and Reverend Dale Gryder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
