Linda Irene Stevenson passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on July 26, 2023, at the age of 80. Though she fell ill just three weeks ago, she was out and about, enjoying life until then.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Robert Vostreys and by her sister, Gail Albright. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Walter Stevenson; her daughters April Specht (Heinz) and Amber Weaver (Travis) and five grandchildren; Carly, Cameron, Jensen, Mia and Insley.
Linda was born on July 16, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA but spent her childhood and adult life in South Jersey. She began working as an Administrative Assistant for Campbell Soup Company in 1963 where she met the love of her life, Walt. They were married within six months and after a tour in Vietnam, they bought a house in Voorhees, had two girls and made that house their home for the next 48 years. Linda was a master seamstress and created everything from home decor to prom dresses and even wedding gowns. She was exceptionally creative and talented, using her gifts selflessly to help others. Linda had boundless energy and enthusiasm; she enjoyed gardening, decorating and spending time with her family, especially in her favorite place, Ocean City, NJ.
A celebration of Linda Stevenson’s life will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Voorhees, NJ. Interment for immediate family.
