Linda Joann Harris

Linda Joann Harris, of Statesville, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019.
Born March 11, 1948 in Elkin, she was the daughter of the late William Clyde and Dixie Irene Garris Harris.
She was a 1969 graduate of Davis Hospital School of Nursing and had worked at Davis Hospital, Uniglass Industries and Clark Equipment as a Registered Nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gene Harris of N. Wilkesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Allen Shaver, whom she married April 16, 1999. She is further survived by 2 sons from a previous marriage; Neal Boyd (Laurel) of Charlotte and Jason Boyd (Kim) of California. She is also survived by step children; Chris Shaver (Jessica) of Louisiana, Nick Shaver (Melanie) of Marion, NC, and Kimberly Benfield (Justin) of Statesville. Also, grandchildren and step grandchildren; Levi Boyd of California, Brayden and Madelyn Boyd of Charlotte, Cody Morris and Raven Shaver of Louisiana, Maggie Shaver of Marion, Josiah and Skylin Benfield of Statesville. Also surviving are sister-in-law Gail Harris of North Wilkesboro, brothers; Roger Harris (Juella) of Elkin, Gary Harris (Bea) of Campabello, SC, Kenneth Harris (Margaret) of Statesville, and sister Cynthia Johnson (Johnny) of Statesville.
A worship service of celebration will be held Monday, April 15, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Western Avenue Baptist Church. The family will be available to greet friends and family prior to the service from 11:30am to 1:00 pm.
