Lina Murdock

Mrs. Lina May Stevenson Murdock, 95, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mrs. Murdock was born May 19, 1919 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Louis Washington Stevenson and Margaret Shell Stevenson. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and was a member of New Amity A.R.P. Church. She was married to the late Robert Don Murdock, who passed away in 1982. Mrs. Murdock is survived by three children, James Murdock (Virginia) of Taylorsville, Barbara M. Vinson of Knoxville, TN, Dennis Murdock, Sr. (Anita) of Mooresville, six grandchildren, Kimberly M. Peralta, Terri Murdock, Diana L. Vinson, Karol D. Sipe, Dennis Murdock, Jr., David K. Murdock, Nicole Murdock six great grandchildren, Holly, Russell, Brandon, Brent, Elijah, one great great grandson, Garrett and four siblings, Ethel Morrison, Frank Stevenson, Charles Stevenson and Nancy Casselles. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, John Louis Stevenson, Bill Stevenson and Dorothy Beckham. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Sink officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
