Mr. Lawrence Osborne (Buck) Gregory, 88, of Statesville, died Saturday, Decembere 26, 2015 at Autumn Care Of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on May 17, 1927, he was a son of the late George Washington Gregory and Effie Fortner Gregory. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Charlie Faye Baggarley Gregory in 2005, brothers, Thomas L. (Roy) Gregory and Foy C. (Pete) Gregory and a sister, Dorothy (Dot) Combs. Buck was retired from the textile industry as a finishing supervisor and a member of Front Street Baptist Church. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was an avid baseball and softball fan and former player and enjoyed golf and bowling and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Larry Gregory (Andrea) of Mooresville, a daughter, Tori Gregory of the home, a very special nephew, Richard Combs, along with four grandchildren: Larin Patton (Alex), Bella G. Gregory, Mark and Matthew Eulitt and three great grandchildren: Donovan J. Moore, Charlie G. Patton and Bryson D. Patton. Services celebrating Buck’s life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Kirk Sams officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail. Condolences may be sent online to the family to
