Mrs. Laura Jane Loeffler Covington, 55, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at her home.
Mrs. Covington was born May 26, 1964 in San Antonio, TX and was the daughter of Bonita Carmen Guy who survives.
She was a graduate of Concord High School and on April 28, 2001 she married William “Billy” Covington and together they shared 18 years of marriage until her death.
Mrs. Covington was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and prior to her disability retirement she worked many years in the food service industry and served as district manager for a number of food service companies.
Mrs. Covington had a passion for cooking and especially loved to bake cakes. She also enjoyed the hobby of making jewelry and loved to share her handmade pieces with friends and family. Her true passion was the love she had for God, her family, friends and her bulldogs. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy Covington, of the home, her mother Carmen Guy along with one son, Boyd Holland of Rock Hill, SC, two daughters, Craythie Holland of Rock Hill, SC and Hollie Davison (Paul) of Springville, AL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Thieleena, Kamaree, Ren, Joscelynn, Valerie, Charlie, and Korben.
A service to celebrate the life of Laura Covington will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bro. Spencer Lee officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at 3:15 PM Thursday in the Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem, NC.
