Larry Charles Hamm, 63, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home. Mr. Hamm was born in Kingsport, TN on March 2, 1950 and was the son of Vollrea Osborne Hamm and the late Herman Charles Hamm. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He attended Bandy's High School and on August 19, 1977 he married Mary Elizabeth Frye Hamm, who survives. Mr. Hamm was owner and operator of Larry's Road Service. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Charles Hamm, Jr. Along with his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hamm, Mr. Hamm is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Johnson (Tony) and Janice Mayberry, both of Statesville; one son, David Mayberry (Dawn) of West Jefferson; three grandsons, Hunter and Luke Johnson and Jesse Kennedy along with one granddaughter, Lillianna Mayberry. He is further survived by two sisters, Janet Dellinger (Robert Henderson) and Jane Setzer, Randy and one niece, Amanda Wright. Funeral services for Mr. Hamm will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ervel Jones officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
