Lanny Charles Combs

Lanny Charles Combs, 65, of Statesville, died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the Gordon Hospice House.
Born in Iredell County on March 29, 1954, he was a son of the late Charles William Combs and Patsy Ann Shumaker Combs. He was also preceded in death by a brother; David Combs.
Lanny graduated from North Iredell High School, attended CVTC and was a member at Bethany Presbyterian Church. For many years he worked at JC Penney as a sales associate. He later worked for WalMart. He enjoyed flower gardening and going for walks. Lanny was a kindhearted man who loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews and his great-nieces and great-nephews. He also loved his cats.
Left to cherish his memory are a brother; Todd Combs (Marie) and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dale Ellis and Rev. Ervel Jones officiating. A private burial will be held earlier.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 114 Bethany Rd., Statesville, NC 28625, or St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
