Stephanie Kate Sigmon "Katie", 32, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 3, 2013 in Charlotte, NC. Katie was born February 5, 1981 in Houston, TX to Jack Wilkinson Sigmon, Jr. and Stephanie Elaine Frazier Sigmon, of Statesville. She attended Iredell County schools, graduated from Statesville High School, class of 1999 and attended Meredith College, where she earned accomplishments including Chancellor's List honors. � Katie's beautiful heart and unconditional love has been, and always will be, a blessing and lesson to all that knew her. Her smile was contagious, her love for music was undeniable and her passion for helping people was her life's mission. Our Katie will be deeply missed forever, but her magical spirit will live on through all those she touched. In addition to her parents, Katie is survived by one sister, Emmylou Tiffany Sigmon (Ben Madison) of Boone, NC, paternal grandmother, Margaret Almond Sigmon of Statesville, two uncles, Don Sigmon (Rachel) of Hilton Head, SC, Jeff Frazier of Statesville, one aunt, Judy F. Howard (Ronnie) of Union Grove, six cousins, Krystina S. Fluty (Joel), Kendall Sigmon, Abigail F. Smith (Derek), Josh Frazier, Travis Howard (Emily), Kyle Howard (Malea), caregiver and dear friend, Claudean Stephens, honorary sister, Mary Carol Wagner and numerous friends and family. Katie was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Jack Wilkinson Sigmon, Sr., maternal grandparents, Paul and Frances Frazier and one cousin, Adam Frazier. Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations for Katie, can be made to First Baptist Church c/o Katie Sigmon Fund.
