Mrs. Julia Ellen Swann Inman, 93, of Statesville, went home to be with Jesus in Heaven on Monday, May 4, 2015, at Rosewood Assisted Living in Harmony. Mrs. Inman was born June 30, 1921, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Broadus B. and Pearl Abernathy Swann. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School as well as Mitchell College and the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY. On June 30, 1945, she married Rufus Edgar Inman, Jr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Inman was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church in Statesville where she was a Sunday school teacher. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Swann, Mary Bullard, and Frances Grose. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Charlotte I. Hendrickson and Carolyn D. Inman, and one son, Paul Inman (Dawn). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jordan Hendrickson and Kara, Taylor, and Christina Inman and three great grandchildren, Anjelica, Christian, and Abigail. She is further survived by a sister Martha Swann Revis (Bill), a sister-in-law, Ann Watkins, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Linda Whitmore. Funeral services for Julia Inman will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Madding officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Mack Mathis officiating.
