Julia Mae Scott Counts

Julia Mae Scott Counts, 79, of Statesville, died Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
She was born on December 13, 1939 in Florence, Alabama to the late Temple Scott and Ather Littlejohn Scott. Julia was also preceded in death by her stepfather; George Shuler and a son; Samuel Ronald Counts II.
Julia was heavily involved with Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County having worked at Gordon Hospice House as both a CNA and cook. Her passion was taking care of her patients and feeding the families. Everyone loved her cakes and food. Julia also loved working with the Rainbow Kidz through Hospice.
Survivors include a daughter; Julia Rae Counts Poole (Jay) of Greenville, SC, a grandson; John Glenn Poole, IV (Brandy) of Greenville, SC, 2 great-grandchildren; Austin Poole and Connor Poole, and two very special young men; Colbert Counts and Andrew Mourey. She is also survived by many family and friends.
Private Graveside Services will be held to honor the life of Julia Counts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House or Rainbow Kidz at Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
