Julia "Judy" Rhea Collins, 71, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 09, 2011, at Gordon Hospice House following a period of declining health. She was born April 20, 1939 in Statesville, N.C. and was the daughter of the late David Crockett Rhea and Iva Rogers Rhea. She was a graduate of Statesville High School. She was formerly married to Charles Franklin Feimster. On August 31,1973 she married Jimmy Marion Collins who died December 9, 2002. Judy was retired from Uniglass Industries and was a receptionist for Dr. George R. Rankin. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pioneer Sunday School Class, which she loved. She enjoyed volunteering at First Baptist Church and Hospice of Iredell County. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She also enjoyed golf, reading, and tennis. In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Charles Phillip Feimster and two brothers, D. Roscoe Rhea and John L. Rhea. She is survived by one daughter, Leigh Ann Feimster Darty of Statesville; a grandson, Jordan Phillip Darty; a granddaughter, Kaleigh Rhea Darty; and a twin sister, Jane Rhea Ivey of Rock Hill, S.C. She is further survived by her nieces; Kelly Rhea Johnson (Dale) and Tammy Rhea Gregory (Tony), both of Statesville; Kim Pitts (Ernie) of Rock Hill, S.C., a nephew, John Michael Rhea (Tina) of Fredericksburg, Va., along with a great-niece, Timberly Gregory, and a great-nephew, Madison Pitts. A celebration of life service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Porter, Dr. Jack Causey, and Rev. Phillip Tillman officiating. A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery prior to the celebration of life service. The family will visit with friends at Adams Hall of First Baptist Church following the services.
