Mr. Earl Lee Stewart, Jr., 68, of Statesville, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center following a period of declining health. Mr. Stewart was born April 30, 1943 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Earl Lee Stewart, Sr. and Hazel Travis Stewart. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and on December 3, 1960, he married Vivian White Stewart, who survives. Mr. Stewart was a retired from Frito Lay where he worked as a truck driver and he was a member of Westminister Church of God. In addition to his wife, Vivian W. Stewart of the home, Mr. Stewart is also survived one son, Scottie Stewart (Pam) of Statesville; one daughter, Angela Shuler (Jason) of Mooresville; three granddaughters, Jennifer Rumple, Hannah Stewart and Peyton Shuler along with one grandson, Austin Shuler and a great-grandson, Camden Stewart. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Stewart of Statesville and Gary Stewart of Troutman and one sister Darlene Shook of Statesville. Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Westminister Church of God with Pastor Gary Helton officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 until 2:00 pm Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will assemble at other times at the home of Scottie Stewart. Memorials may be made to the Westminister Church of God, 2020 Westminister Drive, Statesville, N.C. 28677.
