Joyce Elaine Chavis

Joyce Elaine Chavis, age 70, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at the Hospice Home at High Point. Born on September 17, 1952, in Blount, TN, she was the daughter of the late Reeford Osborne and Odell Gregory.
Joyce had a passion for gardening and planting flowers. She did numerous community work for her community and several churches, especially, Rankin Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point. She had a “Heart of Gold” who loved helping all those around her and truly cherished her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 25 years, Javier Veles; her children, Tina Chavis and Tyrone Chavis; her 10 grandchildren (one of whom preceded her in death); her four great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Curtis (Cathy) Osborne, and Tommy (Myra) Osborne.
A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Thomasville Chapel of Nicholson Funerals & Cremations with Reverend Tommy Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
