Joseph Patrick (Joey) Clendenin, 45, of Statesville, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 in an automobile accident. Born in Iredell County on August 13, 1970, he was a son of the late Tommy Woodfin and Brenda Little Woodfin who survives. Joey was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and was a barber. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was medically discharged from the U.S. Navy. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and sports enthusiast. He also enjoyed horseback riding. Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife, Tina Wyatt Clendenin of the home, a son, Noah Clendenin of Statesville, a step son, Jonathan Ryan and a step daughter, Tasha Barnes (Dan) all of Morganton. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Jon Jon Stogner, Jr., Cameron Ryan, Maci Ryan and Bella Ryan. He is also survived by a sister, D'Anne Melvin (Dan) of Pineville, and nieces and nephew: Tyler, Courtney and Sarah.Also surviving him are his dogs, Sugar and Zelda and his horse, Penny. Services celebrating Joey’s life will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Monday evening at Monticello United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Clanton and Rev. Kenneth Day officiating.
