Jonathan "Jon" Edward David Safley

Jonathan “Jon” Edward David Safley, 27, of Olin, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 15, 1990 in Iredell County to Jeffrey Robert Safley, Sr. and Lynn Staples Safley, who survive. Jonathan was a graduate of North Iredell High School and had worked on the family farm before becoming disabled. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jeff Safley, Sr. of Harmony and Lynn Safley of Olin; his daughter, Sophia Safley (Mother, Jeana Phelps) of Statesville; brother, Jeffrey Safley (Sarah Cass) of Harmony; sister, Jessica Safley (Kevin Sharpe) of Statesville; grandmother, Minnie Safley; niece, Jalyn Safley; nephew, Hunter Safley; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bobby Henderson and Rev. Jacob Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in the Harmony City Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 pm.
