Kathryn Jolene White Price, 81, of Statesville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on July 31, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Esper Onslow White and Cleo Gibson White. Jolene was a graduate of Rutherford County Schools and was a member of the South River Baptist Church where she was part of the “Young at Heart.” She retired from the furniture manufacturing industry where she worked as an inspector. She loved bingo, Nascar, Elvis Pressley, and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin White. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Donna P. Bishop (Bobby) of Mooresville and Teresa P. McCoy (Dale) of Statesville; a granddaughter, Jessica Putnam (Dr. Lane Putnam) of Mooresville; a grandson, Brandon McCoy of Statesville; special friend, Jim Biggerstaff of Belmont; and eight great grandchildren, Jackson, Isabela, Ian , Gavin, Reagan, and Tatum Putnam and Maleah and Mackenzie McCoy. She is further survived by two sisters, Carolyn Jonas of Charlotte and Janan Ruppe of Boydton, VA; and one brother, Wayne White of South Carolina. A Service to celebrate Jolene’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2015 at South River Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thompson and Pastor Larry Whicker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM.
