On December 27, 2024 Johnathan Wayne Garris, born January 26 1988, the most beautiful soul in this world left his earthly body to join family, friends and our Heavenly Father in Heaven. Johnathan was a family man of all family men. His family was his number one priority in his life. He made sure his wife and children and extended family were loved, cared for and protected at all costs. He had a bond with his mother that was absolutely unbreakable and a love and admiration for his father that anyone would be proud of. His nephew Noah was his pride and joy and he cherished the title Uncle John. He loved and protected his sisters fiercely, and one of them he missed dearly for thirty six years of his life. His love for his grandparents was strong and him and his grandpa were literally two peas in a pod. He has a Grandson Jaxon who John was certain literally hung the moon. They were inseparable, he was Jaxon’s Paw Paw. He took Jaxon on is first fishing trip at one year old bringing him home covered in fudge rounds and Vienna Sausages. He was already teaching him the word of God.

Johnathan was a certified well driller who worked that profession at D&Y Well Drilling. He worked so hard to earn that title and was so proud of that accomplishment. Johnathan lived the life he wanted and he lived it on his terms. If he loved you I promise you that you knew it. He was a man with a strong faith in God and spent many hours studying and learning the word. He would teach it to anyone who would listen. He was also an avid hunter. He would make sure that our freezer was full of venison that he would process on his own every year. He had a love for fishing and his favorite fishing partner was his momma. He had a love for carpentry and always wanted to be a master carpenter like his daddy. He may have lived only 36 short years but he made every single day count. And lord he made the most mundane things nothing but an adventure. He was proud of his family and so was I and it was an absolute Honor to be given his last name. Our family was both of our proudest accomplishment.

John was proceeded in death by His sister Heather Lynn Garris, His Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather Beatrice and Ross Gordon, Father and Mother in law Ronnie and Glenda Meindl

Johnathan leaves behind a large family that loved and adored him more than he could have possibly imagine. His Wife, Emily Ann Garris and their children Jeremiah Wayne Garris, Layla James Banks, Addy Marie Banks, Jessy Banks and significant other Austin, and Cortney Alaina Banks. His Mother Angela Haney and Step father Joe Haney. His Father Jack R. Garris and Step mother Kathleen D Garris. His Siblings Holly Bartrug and Husband Barry, Havan Sawyer and Husband Rob, Savannah Obarowski and Husband Matthew, Step Brothers Houston E Farlow and Geoffrey M. Smith Grandfather and Grandmother Tony and Linda Carter. Grandfather and Grandmother Diane and Edward Hudspeth. His Best Friends Anthony and Katie Lee. Along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that the list would go on for days. He cherished each and every one of them too.

Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
