John Wright

Mr. John William Wright, 73, of Mocksville, NC, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mr. Wright was born March 29, 1940 in Rockingham County, NC and he was the son of the late John P. Wright and Pauline Summerford Wright. He was a graduate of Rohanen High School and he was married to Beverly M. Wright, who survives. Mr. Wright was a retired lab technician with Clark Schwebel. He was a longtime member of Front Street Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Wright served his country honorably and faithfully and retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Army Reserves. In addition to his wife, Beverly, Mr. Wright is also survived by two sons, William Steven Wright of Statesville and John David Wright and wife Terri of Mooresville; two granddaughters, Kayla Faith Wright and Savannah Elise Wright and a step-son, John Merrell of Salisbury. He is also survived by one brother, Jerry Wright and a sister, Shirley W. Sechrist and husband Barry, all of Statesville. A funeral service with full military honors for John Wright will be conducted at 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Front Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Stutts and Rev. Jamie Hmarick officiating. The family will visit friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Front Street Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Purple Heart Homes, P.O.
