Joey Brewer

Joseph "Joey" Barnard Brewer, 30, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Joey was born January 19, 1981 in Iredell County and was the son of Tony and Robin Davidson Brewer. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School, class of 1999 and Catawba Valley Technical College. He was the Route Supervisor of his family's business, Pocket Change Amusement in Statesville and was also co-owner of T&J Motor Sports. Joey was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church and dedicated many years to coaching youth sports. He was also an avid Duke Blue Devil and New York Yankee Fan. In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by one sister, Andrea Brewer Price (Ben) of Statesville, one niece, Willow Price, his fianc�, April Sharpe of Statesville, son, Logan, two daughters, Kiley and Braylen; maternal grandparents, Bob and Chloe Davidson of Statesville; paternal grandparents, Jim and Eunice Brewer of Statesville; six uncles, Rick Brewer (Terri), Jan Brewer (Judy), Gary Davidson, Denny Stafford (Cathy), Mike Mayberry and Doug Mayberry (Donna); four aunts, Sandy Davidson (Chris), Sandy Jolly (Gary), Sherry (Richard), Sheena Woods and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Kathleen Deal Davidson, paternal grandmother, Sue Chapman (Bob), one uncle, Tim Davidson and one cousin, Erin Davidson. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Western Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Cook, Dr. Skip Cartin and Rev. Mike Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home and at other times the family will assemble at the home of Joey's parents, Tony and Robin Brewer, 115 Creekside Dr., Statesville. Active pallbearers will be Tony Fargnoli, Sean Brewer, TJ Johnson, Jonathan Brewer, Shane Galliher, Justin Mayberry, Alan Nichols, Justin Wiles and Jon Cavanagh. Honorary pallbearers will be West Iredell High School, Class of 1999 Soccer Team.
