Joe Aaron Yarbrough, born on March 17, 1938, in Davidson County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, in the same place he called home for his entire life. He was an extraordinary man whose presence graced this world for 87 years.

In his younger years, Joe contributed to the family business, Yarbrough Hosiery, before becoming the owner and operator of his own painting company. His work was a testament to his dedication and strong work ethic, and he took great pride in his craft.

Joe's life was enriched by simple pleasures and heartfelt passions. He found immense joy in fishing, spending serene days by the water. He was an avid fan of the Braves and the Blue Devils, always cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. His trips to Atlanta were cherished adventures that filled his heart with happiness.

Throughout his life, Joe was known for his kind and gentle spirit. He touched those around him with his kindness, humor, humility, and grace, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love that will be dearly missed.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Briggs Yarbrough, in May 2024, as well as his parents and siblings, Doris, Linda, and Wayne. He is survived by his loving family: son Curtis Yarbrough (Sherry), daughter Shelby Hines (Jimmy), and son Gary Yarbrough (fiancée Jennifer). Joe's memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Philip Yarbrough (Corrine), Clay Yarbrough (Ashley), Chloe Yarbrough, and Jack Hines, as well as his great-grandchildren, Kinley, Brooks, Lillian, William, and Evelyn.

In honor of Joe's wishes, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. His family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived, remembering the laughter, love, and lessons he shared with them all.

Joe Aaron Yarbrough will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
