Joe Wilson Laymon

Joe Wilson Laymon, 88, of Statesville, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at his home.
He was born October 30, 1931 in Davie County to the late Arleth B. Laymon and Evelyn Rollins Laymon. He was also preceded in death by a sister; Gelaine Bell and a brother; Wayne Laymon.
Joe was retired from Lilly Company in sales and service and had served his country in the US Army. He was also a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Joe had enjoyed raising beagles, rabbit hunting and working on vehicles. He loved his dog, Ollie and especially enjoyed being at home with his family who he loved very much.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Rachel Johnson Laymon; daughter, Kelly (Eric) Feimster; sister, Kay (Ed) Sellers; brother, Donald (Ella) Laymon and other family members.
A Graveside Service will be held for Mr. Laymon on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Darren Johnson and Rev. William Wease officiating. The family will visit with family and friends in the Fellowship Hall following the burial.
