Joe Josey

Mr. Joe Herman Josey, 74, of Troutman, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Josey was born January 4, 1938 and was the son of the late Samuel Bascomb and Juanita Elizabeth Barnhardt Josey. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools Mr. Josey was retired from Trailways Bus where he worked as a bus driver and later with Statesville Roofing where he worked as a crew foreman. He was a member of the VFW Post 2031 and was also a volunteer with the Statesville Fire Department. Mr. Josey is survived by one son, Joe Terry Josey of the home, one daughter, Donna Josey Johnson (Don) of Troutman; three sisters, Pansy J. Miller and Evelyn J. Jolly, both of Statesville and Sally J. Rankin of Troutman. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Danielle Johnson and one grandson, Steele Johnson, both of Troutman. Also surviving are two nephews, Todd Rankin and Ricky Miller along with three nieces, Tammy Martin, Julie Miller Bowman (Keith), Amanda Key along with great-nieces Lori and Peggy and great-nephew Chad Key.
