Jimmy Leaundus Clower

Mr. Jimmy Leaundus Clower, 75, of Statesville, died Thursday July 28, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born July 4, 1941 in Bluefield, W. Va., he was a son of the late L. G. Clower and Bessie Perkins Clower. Jimmy attended New Hope Baptist Church and was retired from Carolina Mills. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, NASCAR racing and working outside. He collected clocks and model airplanes. He also dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Nipper Clower, two daughters, Karen Arnette (Eddie) of Statesville and Libby Childress (Bobby) of Stony Point, N.C. Also surviving are a brother, Johnnie Clower of Bluefield, W. Va., and two sisters, Dee Cranfill of Statesville and Judy Gray of Pineville, W. Va. Additional survivors include grandchildren: Shanna Evans (Patric), Casey Arnette (Wendy), Kayla Harris (Jesse) and Kara Baynes and great grandchildren: Lacie, Emma, Isabella and Sophia Evans, Savannah, Lyric and Mason Harris, Tucker and Kepley Arnette and his special pets Lucy and Lucky. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kodi Baynes and brothers: Dave, Bernard, & James Clower and sisters: Gladys Taylor and Notrie Levy. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ervil Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com .
