Mr. Jeffrey Franklin Carter, 52, of Statesville, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born in Iredell County on January 11, 1966, he was a son of Robert Carter and Jane Parlier Carter, both of whom survive.
Jeff was a 1984 graduate of West Iredell High School and received his B.A.A.S., Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences from Eastern New Mexico University. He retired from the U. S. Air Force after 12 years serving as an in-flight refueler and serving in Desert Storm. He then retired from Iredell County as a paramedic after 22 years. He enjoyed music and the outdoors. He followed the Carolina Crown Marching Band as an avid fan and also loved his dog, Brandy.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Sherry Carter Stewart and her husband, Jay of Stony Point, a niece, Savannah Stewart and his Paternal Grandmother, Mary Carter.
Services celebrating Jeff’s life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Monticello Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Henderson officiating. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M.
Full Military Rites will then be presented on the front lawn of the church by the North Iredell American Legion Post # 113.
