Mrs. Janice Grace McLelland Eller, 79, of Statesville, was called home to Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father, her wonderful husband, her parents, brothers and sisters who had all gone before her. Mrs. Eller died peacefully at the Gordon Hospice House on May 2, 2017, with her son, Mark, daughter, Lynne and daughter-in-law, Angie by her side, along with angels to take her to her heavenly home. Mrs. Eller was born July 1, 1937 to the late Dublin Lawrence McLelland and Grace Daniels McLelland. Mrs. Eller grew up in the Central Community and attended Central School where she graduated and was crowned Miss Merry Christmas. She was a beautiful person inside and out and always smiling, even when her arthritis pain was unbearable. Mrs. Eller was the youngest of six children, she had three wonderful sisters, Beulah, Barbara and Inez and two brothers, that she was so proud of Graham and Lem who were both killed in World War II. On February 18, 1957, she married the love of her life, Johnny Thomas Eller, who she shared 54 years of wedded bliss until he was called home to Heaven on January 30, 2012. She worked for Hunt Mfg. for many years, before finding her true passion owning her own business “The Upper Crust Consignment Store”. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Harmony where she attended until her health declined. She loved meeting new people and made many friends through her consignment store which she ran for 12 years before selling, when her husband retired she wanted to enjoy time with him. Rarely did you see one of them without the other. They loved being together spending time at their Mountain home in Boone; Mrs. Eller enjoyed working in her flowers, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and most of all her great grandchildren. Mrs. Eller is survived by three children, Mark Eller (Angie) of Stony Point, Lynne Eller Bumgarner of Statesville and Donald Eller (Jane) of Tecumseh, MO; five grandchildren, Josh Eller, Alex Harper, Ian, Cassidy and Lyle Eller and five great grandchildren, Jacob Merritt, Cole and Levi Harper, Grace Eller and Lily Steinbruner. Also many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
