Janet Elaine (Overcash) Kirkman

Janet Elaine Overcash Kirkman died Tuesday December 1, 2015 at the Serenity House in Mooresville, NC. She was born in Iredell County on February 23, 1955 to the late Ira Monroe Overcash, Jr. and Betty Jean Overcash Overcash who preceded her in death. Janet was a graduate of the Davis Hospital School of Nursing and served in private duty most of her career. She was a faithful member of Amity Lutheran Church where she served on the Church Council, and was a Lay Reader as long as her health permitted. In 1979 she was married to Randy Lee Kirkman who preceded her in death in 1981. Janet is survived by 2 brothers, Kelly Overcash (Lori) and Keith Overcash, 3 nieces Carobeth O. Tucker (Lucas), Brady E. Overcash, and Leah Grace Overcash, a nephew Leslie M. Overcash and his fiancé, Amanda Watts and a great-nephew, Luke Tucker. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Amity Lutheran Church, 1367 Ostwalt-Amity Road, Cleveland, NC 27013 with Pastor Gene Bruce and Rev. Dr. Larry W. Bost officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 2-3:00 prior to the funeral hour.
